UNDERGROUND MEDICINE

Last update 29 August, 2010

The 2nd press of The Gaggers-You Fix Me Up available now on white vinyl with two different sleeves! While you’re at it; if you can, take 2 minutes 13 seconds away from your Hozac singles club and other various “young men with beards” records and check out something once known as Punk Rock. I’m not bitter, I just like RocknRoll.

VEINES, DISSUADERS, & C.I.A. lp’s in stock. Check the bottom of the page.

Ever wonder what happened to the great Hostage Records label? I sure did and now I know. They have a really cool podcast Surf And Destroy Radio

Just when you think you know it all, you learn something new. I’ve been a Runaways/Joan Jett and Blondie fanatic forever. I got all the records, bootlegs, books etc. Oddly, I don’t have much interest in The Runaways movie, but I’ll see it eventually. Anyway, the other day I’m trolling around you tube and find something I never even knew existed. I stubble upon a holy grail of sorts without even searching for it! Blondie covers The Runaways in 1977! It’s a pretty great version. Debbie's vocal sounds great and Clem is just insane. Well I guess there must be a Blondie boot out there that I need. The hunt continues...

Remember, new records are added weekly, as we get them, not in a single update like the old days...

NEW SHIT! : seven inches

4.50 Broken Bottles
Drinking In The Rain/Lose Every Battle (Bat Skates) Long standing socal punk band. Right in the mix with Smogtown, Stitches, Smut Peddlers, The Crowd, early Social Distortion...

4.00 Dagger Dicks
Sharp For You/Razor Sharp Love (Meaty Beaty) I couldn’t find a myspace page for them, but for some strange reason they sound almost exactly like The Gaggers, Botox Rats, Shanghai Wires, & Disco Lepers-only with a slight bit of powerpop injected. I do mean slight. Lime green vinyl.

4.50 Gaggers
Fix Me Up/Got No Time + Blow The Bank (Rapid Pulse) 200 copy 2nd press on white vinyl! Two different sleeves (100 copies each). A co-release with our friends at No Front Teeth UK-www.myspace.com/nftrecords. Super snotty 77 stlye Punk from England! 5.00 Gestapo Khazi
Escalators/The Atomic Kind (Eradicator) Excellent, quick paced, catchy a-side with with a slightly moodier b-side. They've probably listened to a good bit of Brit post-punk, but it's not dark or brooding at all. From Long Beach, CA.

4.00 Jolts
Kaminari Lover/Loser (Baby I’m A) (Meaty Beaty) Garagey RnR punk from Canada. Another hit for Meaty Beaty!

4.25 Jons
Walk Towards The People/Grass On The Wicket (Meaty Beaty) The sons of CockSParrer! Literally. A couple of these lads Dad’s are in that legendary band. Perhaps not your typical Meaty Beaty release. This is more Britpop than CockSParrer. Pretty cool anyway. Clear vinyl + download. Produced by Daryl SParrer.

7.00 JunK
Glad To See You’re Back... ep (Bad Idea) O.C. Beach Punk Rules!!! Costa Mesa’s The JunK are 3 members of the Smut Peddlers, so that should tell you exactly what you’re getting. This is their 3-song debut. Only 150 copies on colored vinyl with lyric insert, sticker, and a 2” badge.

4.00 Radio Reelers
Too Dumb To Quit (Meaty Beaty) These San Francisco boys have been around a long time now. This is some of their best stuff! 4-songs, Blood red vinyl

4.50 Sexmachines
Ready, Steady, Go!/School’s Out Forever (Sexmachines) This single is from 2005 and it’s the first we’ve seen of it. Too bad, cause this is realy good speedy super-melodic punk. I'm guessing they were a short-lived band formed from the ashes of the terrific Vanilla Muffins. Apparently this was their 2nd single, the catalog number is SM#02. Both songs are originals.

5.00 Shannon and the Clams
Paddy’s Birthday/Diary: Jimmy (Southpaw) Some very authentic early 60’s girl style songs with a modern touch.

4.25 Soda Pop Kids
Stomp & Shout!/Santa Monica Pearls (Meaty Beaty) Super catchy A-side pop with a crunchier flip. Insane clear splatter vinyl!

5.00 Splinters

5.00 Strange Attractor
Just Looking ep (FDH) One part garage punk, one part goofballs. It definitely works. 4-songs including a Nipple Erectors cover. Check out their videos for a better idea...

God, Guts, Guns and More (More Than A Witness) Over the years I’ve sold off most of my hardcore records 'cause I just don’t care anymore. There are a few exceptions:MDC 1st lp, all Minor Threat, and one of the best U.S. hardcore releases ever, the classic God, Guts, Guns ep by Bridgeport, Connecticut’s C.I.A. That 7” is included here along with unreleased demos from 82/83 before most of the band went on to form 76% Uncertain. 20 tracks total including I Hate The Radio.

Minutes To Go (Hate) Italy Going way back to Rapid Pulse #3, we put out a split from 2 great Italian punk bands Bingo and Thee STP. This is Bingo's singer Alex and his latest band. 13.00 Horribly Wrong - LP
C’mon And Bleed With The Horribly Wrong (Eradicator) BACK IN STOCK!!! I haven’t heard an album like this in a looooong time. It doesn’t sound dated, but it easily could have come out on Rip Off Records in the nineties. One killer song after another! We used to call it Garage Punk so we’ll go with that. Fast but not thrash, high energy, not every song sounds the same, great b & w cover art, lyric sheet/insert, 180 gram vinyl, a download card. What more could you want? Nothing! Split release with www.myspace.com/shitincanrecords.

Perdus dans la ville (Demolition Derby) Belgium Killer Punk from France! ’77 meets the Rip Offs to give you an idea what they’re like. 16 mid/fast tempo songs mostly sung in French. Includes members of Flaschen and others. NOTE:The covers got a bit bashed up in shipping. Not terrible, but far from perfect. The vinyl is unscathed.

6.00 Young People With Faces - LP
S/T (Rapid Pulse) We’re so pumped for this record! 3 teenage chicks and one teenage dude from Idaho kick out the raw punkrock like it’s L.A. 1978! Besides sound that kicks ass over the cd version, this includes the non-cd bonus killer “I Didn’t Die!” 13 originals and a Rezillos cover. Great cover art! Check out their Cherry Blossom Clinic session. Buy together with the Sleazies lp for $10 + postage.
